Sprint PCS, Infonxx enter directory assistance agreement

Wi Fi Radio Sprint PCS, Infonxx entered into a directory assistance agreement that could save the carrier millions. The service offers enhanced services.

Registering your new Sprint wireless phone number with Upromise is easy. To register your new phone number you need to enter your 10 digit numeric phone number online at Upromise.com. You will also need to enter the 5 digit numeric zip code that you are using as your billing address for your newly opened Sprint wireless account. Upromise then sends the information to Sprint, who will verify that your new wireless phone number is valid.

You can reach operator assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by pressing 0 on your phone, then the ok key. The Sprint PCS operator can help you with collect calls, party calls, person calls, emergency interruption and international directory assistance. An operator service charge of $1.49 per call will apply. All airtime charges, long distance charges and other applicable surcharges associated with any call placed through operator services will appear on your CREDO Mobile bill.

The phone also supports PCS Vision email and instant messaging capabilities. Sprint PCS Vision transforms the wireless experience from something that's simply functional into something visual, entertaining and highly personalized. MSN Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, and AOL Instant Messenger are all supported by Sprint's PCS Vision service. PCS Vision mobile Web services let you check out sports scores, day forecast, check your flight status, and stay up to date with the latest news. You' color graphic versions of popular Web sites.

Broadband Service June, 2003 (RCRNews.com) Sprint PCs (NYSE: PCS) said it will begin offering enhanced directory assistance services from Infonxx in a move that could save the carrier millions of dollars.

07 1. As the Customer for wireless service, you agree that Cox Wireless, Inc. (“Cox”) or its affiliates (“Sprint”) in subscribing you to wireless services and that Sprint is the provider of wireless service. You also agree to the Terms and Conditions in the Sprint subscriber agreement which is incorporated herein and is attached hereto and located at www.sprintpcs.com (“Subscriber Agreement”). Some service features described in the Subscriber Agreement may not be available to you through Cox.

Wi Fi Card Infonxx said that in addition to providing local and national directory assistance, the company would offer a number of enhanced services, including restaurant reservations, driving directions, event information, sports scores, category searches, stock quotes, reverse searches, weather conditions and Spanish-language directory assistance.

  • Sprint PCS, Verizon Wireless, AT& enabled phone with a 2G, 3G or GPRS wireless Internet data plan subscription.
  • PC (with a min. 200MHz CPU) with an Internet browser.
  • 50 MB of hard disk drive space. ROM drive (for software installation).
  • A FutureDial mobile phone data cable for connecting the phone to the PC (sold separately).

Broadband Connection Sprint PCs added that for each call made to directory assistance, a customer can receive up to three numbers or items of information and be connected to a requested number for an additional charge plus applicable local airtime.

Palm Wi Fi Card According to industry sources, Sprint PCs previously used Metro One Telecommunications Inc.'s directory assistance services under contract until the end of last year and has since been in negotiations with a number of vendors. While financial terms of the agreements were not released, analysts have previously noted Metro One charged its carrier customers an average of 48 cents per call, and Sprint PCs was looking to lower its costs to the mid-30-cent per call range.

Broadband For Business Sprint PCs also announced an agreement with At Road Inc. to provide mobile resource management services using Sprint PCs network.

Belkin Fi Phone Wi Under the terms of the agreement, At Road will offer enterprise customers a bundled solution that includes its mobile resource management services and devices with an embedded CDMA module that has been certified for use as part of Sprint PCs telemetry services. The carrier added the offering provides an alternative to customers looking to migrate from CDPD networks, which are in the process of being phased out in favor of next-generation data networks.
