Bredbandsbolaget first to offer automatic business IT security

F-Secures subscription security protects small and medium-sized business customers.

Helsinki, Finland - May 15, 2006 -- Bredbandbolagets Secure Business is the first service in Sweden to offer small and medium-sized businesses a subscription-based IT security solution. The service, which contains anti-virus, firewall, anti-spam and anti-spyware products, is supplied by F-Secure. A Web-based portal provides users with an easy, flexible and low cost way of administering a companys computer security. The campaign starts week 19 and costs 35 SEK per user per month, with a three-month free period.
The IT environment is becoming all the more complex and greater demands are being placed, mostly on a businesss IT security. This places a heavy burden on smaller businesses that dont have a dedicated security manager, says Johan Lindgren, CEO of Bredbandsbolaget. It must be easy to protect your business against viruses, trojans, worms and spy programs. With Secure Business our broadband is secured.

Bredbandsbolaget is an attractive partner for subscription-based security services, said Kina Persell, MD of F-Secure AB. Before there were no security solutions intended for small and medium-sized businesses. This means that a business either chose solutions intended for the home user or for larger businesses. As the first Internet Service Provider to offer an automatic security service to small and medium-sized businesses, Bredbandsbolaget is at the forefront with modern and attractive services.

Service providers, such as Internet Service Providers, are acquiring an increasingly important role as the applications market moves towards subscriptions. In the area of security there is a great future, particularly so in the business market. On average between eight and ten new viruses appear every day, and at the same time the threat scenario is increasing in complexity. This places great demands on users, and considering that an estimated one-in-ten business computers in Sweden are totally unprotected, this additional service is becoming ever more important.

Subscription-based security services also reduce the total cost of IT security. Today it is estimated that maintenance accounts for 80 percent of the total cost, and the remaining 20 percent are costs attributed to purchase of the software. Secure Business offers freedom from the inconvenience of managing licences and updates. Computers are automatically protected around the clock.
